I still remember crying my eyes out when I first practiced a potent heart meditation with
. A practice for self-compassion, for love, for connection.Sarah was the way I first dipped my toes into meditating, to connecting to the heart, to the divine, to witnessing another way of living that wasn’t rushed, frantic or panicked.
Fast (or slow) forward to today.
I return to her practices when my heart needs tending, and I often find myself crying over nothing and everything as she soothes me into a gooey, centered, expansive space of the heart.
I’ve been teaching yoga now for 5 years and it’s been the privilege of my life to hold some of my students for that length of time, to witness their evolution, to show them the way into their own gooey centers. It often fills me with awe, and pride to see how these students of mine are brave enough to unravel themselves before me and let me witness their most tender parts. It’s a responsibility and a role I do not take lightly - to hold and cradle their precious hearts.
In the evolution of my own practice, a great gift in continuing to connect to my heart has been the practice of Yoga Nidrā. It has been the constant support I didn’t know I needed in my life, a haven of trust, sweet nectar, devotion and deep peace.
Not long ago, I offered my creative path to the Goddess of Yoga Nidrā, asking her to guide me in the next steps of my career, my work, and the way I share her essence with the world. During one of my practices, the words “Rested Heart” floated in, and I knew I had to listen. After my rest, I envisioned what a container for a rested heart might look like—and it flowed out of me effortlessly. The Goddess works like this.
So I’m inviting you into this very special space of the heart with me. A place I trust to be a fountain that holds and nourishes us. I can already see the vibrant, sweet and deep support this container will offer those who wish to touch into this rested and connected part of themselves.
Join me from July 14th for my free 4-day container Rested Heart. More details here.
This space will be a reflection of my journey into the heart over the years and the many layers I have stripped back, held, and continue to evolve into.
This container can be a time for you to simply come to pause from your busy day, it can be a space for reflection and contemplation, it might even be a place of devotion.
But it is a space that is uniquely yours, because your heart is unique and vibrant.
I hope to see you and hold space for you and your heart.
